Nature highlights enterovirus-B discovery as key milestone in Type 1 Diabetes research
The prestigious scientific journal Nature has highlighted research by Vehik et al. (2019) from the international TEDDY study as a key milestone in type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. The TEDDY study, involving clinical centers across the USA and Europe, investigates environmental triggers of T1D. Vehik et al. provided significant evidence linking prolonged Enterovirus-B infection with T1D development in young children. This finding advances our understanding of how viral infections influence autoimmune diseases and strongly supports Vactech’s vaccine development efforts

Diabetologia. 2024 February 19 ... The results indicate that the tested multivalent CVB vaccine is well tolerated and immunogenic, supporting its further clinical development.
